I urge each and everyone who reads this blog to attend the meeting. You need to see how your school system is being run. Also be supportive of those new board members who are not there to carrying out Lewis' power games. They have made a good start, let your pressence encourage them to work for the students and the people who elected them. By filling that room we can show Lewis and Fox that people are watching and are NOY HAPPY with them....
ReplyDeletePLEASE ATTEND !!! WE NEED CHANGE AND WE NEED IT NOW !!!!!!
I agree I have heard more and more talk about the problems in our school system. Not only about the problem that started this blog, but about the many problems that are occurring all over.
ReplyDeleteAs taxpayers we need to take action and see how our money is being spent, I for one want my tax money spent on the students. I find it disgraceful that individuals have to depend on a lawsuit to make something happen. It is a disgrace that the board will not negotiate with the teachers in good faith and that they have been working without a contract for 2 years. It is called negotiations because you are supposed to meet in the middle, from what I understand the board’s team wouldn't even talk.
It is embarrassing to hear that the director of schools thinks it is okay to close the door in a parents face. His job is to serve the taxpayers who are paying his salary that may mean listening to things he doesn’t want to hear. His job is also to help fix the problems in the school, not make more by acting so unprofessional.
If half of the things on here are true Fox is an embarrassment to the profession of education. If her best solution for a parent is to move their child to another school, why is she in her job? If she is the complaint person, then clearly the parents, as well as, the teachers have now one to go to.
Please attend the meeting, it is clear if only a fraction of the information out there is true, our system is a mess. Lewis and Fox are an embarrassment to their jobs and to the county. Our children deserve better than this and as taxpayers we do to. Clearly their salaries are a waste of our tax dollars!

Interesting reading from the State of Tennessee website regarding Tennessee statutes that the school system has to be in compliance with this form is sent in by our Director of Schools. How compliant is our school system?

See you at the meeting tomorrow night ghsparent I look forward to meeting you.
ReplyDeleteschsparent everyone in this county knows these schools arent our or our kids but his. He loves to tell parents that this is his school district and if you dont like it to bad. Then Fox comes up with the idea if your not happy then move your kid. We need a new Director! The board needs to stand up to this BULLY. We need to fight to get our schools back for our community and kids.

ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree with you more!! Lewis is way out of line and all he dose is appoint young women he can bully into carrying out his will. When you look at the people he has in supervisor positions, it is amazing how young and how they are mainly female. Yes I know there are some males, but they are either his buddies, or he bullies them to. He makes sure he has no one around unless they are his chosen ones or completely without a backbone and thoughts of their own. It is amazing if you ask anything, their response is always I will have to call Mr. Lewis and check. When supervisors can’t do their jobs without calling him for approval on everything, then they to are useless. It says alot about Fox's character when she advises a parent to up root a child instead of doing her job and handling the problem. She sure set a great example for the teachers, if you have a problem tell the parents to move. In case she doesn’t know it those parents pay her salary too!! That is the problem Lewis thinks it’s his system, instead of the fact that he is ONLY an employee, and very BAD employee at that. He wants to take credit for the scores?? He isn't teaching and the teachers are unhappy in their jobs. If you look into how many teachers have left, you would be amazed. If you talk to ones who have left they say it was the best thing they ever did. They can actually work somewhere that they are treated as professionals, with respect and dignity. Most they will tell you if you work here it is under stress and fear of crossing Lewis. They stay because they have too much time invested to start over, or they have kids in the system themselves.
We need to encourage these new board members to take our schools back. They are here to serve the best interest of the children, not Lewis. The board members are to represent the people, not Lewis and his hand pick pals. SHOW AT THE MEETING !! SHOW Lewis YOU CARE ABOUT THESE SCHOOLS!!! SHOW YOU SUPPORT FOR THE CHILDREN OF SMITH COUNTY!!!
It has gotten very quiet on here. I was just wondering what the parents are going to do about their problem? Are you going to go forward or are you just giving in to Lewis and Fox and their unprofessional tactics? If hope you have the courage to take your fight to the next level, no child shoul dhave been treated this way. If something isn't done it will only continue and get worse.
ReplyDeleteI think the parents have thrown in the towel and their kid with it by allowing her to go back under a person they said assaulted her. I can't imagine allowing my child to be under her supervision, if she did a fraction of what has been stated on here.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous they still have 39 days I would not count them out yet. From what I have heard the girl is back but has a lot of people watching to make sure this teacher does not cross any lines at school or at the games. I am sure they now know the law and they will not be giving this teacher the option of an apology next time.
ReplyDeletemaybe but she still got away with it. Lewis and Fox are coming out clean and no one is taking responsibility.
ReplyDeleteI am with you Anonymous, no responsibility. That is what aways happens, as long as Lewis likes you it does not matter what you do. Just like the SCHS football cheerleader coach not working in the system. But the county pays for her to go on all of the trips, etc. It is all about who you are. Lewis likes people he can bully and it appears that is what he has done to these parents. I wouldn't want her near my kid, they maybe watching, but I can bet she is still talking about that kid and her parents. She might be careful to who, but it is still happening. Also the girl better watch her back that she dosen't get set up. That is what has happen over here to get rid of students who's parents raised a fuss. A little time passes and suddely they do something stupid (they claim) and kick them out. This is Lewis' way of getting back, it will involve another teacher, so they can blame it on the coach. watch out!
ReplyDeletesorry
ReplyDeleteso they can't blame it on the coach
She hasn't gotten away with it yet. I think the parents are setting up the teacher because we all know she can't handle someone questioning her authority. She will snap the pressure is already getting to her or why else would she be asking students and faculty what she should do about this mom and her blog. My advice… Act like an adult try an apology and admit you made a mistake.
ReplyDeleteIf Lewis & Fox plan to set this girl up they better make sure they cross their t's and dot their I's, I would say this Mom knows school board polices better then most school district employees.
Coming out clean - you are kidding right? Lewis and Fox just inherited a thorn in their side that will not go away. I'm pretty sure this mom has one objective - to get rid of Lewis and Fox. Bottom line - they are the ones responsible for this huge mess.
ReplyDeleteNo,
ReplyDeleterumor has it Lewis and Fox think they have shut this parent up and she will fade away. The kid is back cheering, so for them its over.
Or at least that is the rumor mill or the spin Lewis has put on it to people at the board.
But of course thay can't really say that, Lewis has put out the word that no one working for the system is suspose to talk about anything that reguards the schools and that they are not to have an opinion about anything that reguards the schools.
WOW would we all want to work for him!!
I know these parents' first priority is their child, as it should be. that being said, i don't understand why they would allow their daughter to return to cheer under a coach who mistreated their child in the manner they are saying she did. everyone watching or not, why would you ever want your child to be coached by this woman? no matter what anyone says, this kid is still having to look at a coach who assulted her and said some really bad things about her. the mom said they pulled her to protect her, but nothing has changed and they put her back into the exact same enviroment. from what I have read on here and heard at the games, this woman thinks she is untouchable and has proven to be that way. was the cheerleading position worth putting their daughter back in the line of fire of this woman? she may not be doing and saying things to the girl's face, but she sure is behind her back. time is about to run out and Lewis, Fox, and the coach won. not a one of them is suffering any real consequences for this. again they managed to shut up more parents and get their way. just another example of throwing the parents a bone and then gloating about your victory when they jump on it. same old thing all over again.
ReplyDeleteWhen we travel to other schools I wonder how many people at games are staring to get a look at our cheerleading coach or figure out which cheerleader this forum is about. Instead of blaming the parents for letting the daughter back we need to blame Lewis, Fox and Medley for allowing this to happen and continue. This is such a embarrassment for our county as a whole.
ReplyDeleteThe teacher might be talking behind the girls back but Smith County and all of our surrounding counties are talking about this teacher, Lewis and Fox. This forum is the talk of town everywhere you go. From what I have heard from some of the parents that have students in her class she is no picnic. She says inappropriate things in front of her students all the time. She cusses in front of students, talks about how hot other teachers are and verbally abuses girls in her class that she has chosen to spew her hate towards. Also a very reliable source told me Medley has had numerous complaints against her. Not one person in the school system, students or parents have said anything nice about this teacher so why are Lewis, Fox and Medley putting their careers on the line for her? She must have something on them because they are allowing the entire school system to be held financially responsible for the verbal and physical abuse of a child.
gvillefan you are right they should make their daughter sit out and miss high school because our great director of schools is allowing a teacher to abuse students. Shame on them for allowing their daughter to return under this horible women just for a cherleading position. Lets blame the parents instead of the people that are running our schools.
ReplyDeletepaws101, what i said must have came across wrong. i am not blaming the parents. if even half of what i have heard this coach has said about and done to this child is true, i just can't understand why her parents would allow her to return under this coach. i think the coach should be GONE from coaching at the very least, along with Lewis and Fox. they are claiming a victory here. the coach is still there and she hasn't been held accountable for her actions. they "allowed" this child to come back, but under the same coach and without any accountability for assulting the child. this school system is a disaster to say the least, but my concern is for the child and what she must be going through having to deal with this coach on a daily basis. they are her parents, but if she were my daughter, i wouldn't allow her to be under an abusive bully. would you? sports are an important part of high school and can teach valuable life lessons, but standing up for principals and what is right is more important. at least that is the way it was when i went to ghs.
ReplyDeleteIt might be unimportant to you but to a 16 yr old it is very important. This kid has scholorships on the line. Maybe we as residents of this county need to call the director, the principal, ad, and Fox to tell them we expect them to hold this teacher accountable for her actions. It is easy for people to say if it were my kid but from what I was told this kid wanted to go back. Time hasnt passed yet so I am amazed everyone is counting these parents out. GHS has changed for the worse since any of us went there. Lewis controls every school in our county now. Why would these parents want to stand up for a principal after what he has allowed to be done to their kid? Fox stated this was handled at the school level remember that.
ReplyDeleteI never said it wasn't important to her. i have nieces who cheer in different counties and i know how important it is to them. they have all been on this blog and read it and all of them have agreed they couldn't cheer under a coach who had abused them the way this coach did this child. nothing has changed since the parents pulled their daughter, so i am just confused by them allowing her to go back. they were right in pulling her in the first place and have shown more restraint than i would have if it had been my daughter who was grabbed and shoved. but, why let her go back if it is under the same conditions? i don't understand this woman still being allowed to walk the halls of ghs. if witnesses have come forward to affirm what happened (i am assuming anyone who saw this personally has already called the school or the boe), then how is it the teacher wasn't dismissed? the parents could have pushed for this and criminal charges. if the parents and the witnesses went to the news media with this, then something would get done. it is the only way to force a change with Lewis. he hates the idea of the media knowing about the problems in his schools. problem now is all he has to say is the student is back cheering and everyone is happy. it is my understanding that this girls mom owns a cheer gym, so i asked my nieces about the scholarships and if this girl had to cheer for a school in order to get cheerleading scholarships. they said she has a much better chance of getting scholarships if she cheers for a private gym (they all go to 4 and 5A schools) and cheer for private gyms too. if everyone is going to keep folding, then nothing is going to change within the system.

With these 2 running the schools you can see why they are in such a mess. Lets review it has to be handled at the school level. But Lewis runs the schools to the point that they are afraid to flush the toliet without premisson (I have to ask Mr. Lewis). So at school level or not Lewis is calling the shots, so he should be the first one out the door, Fox can run behind shouting his praises (thats all she can do any way). The teacher needs to leave the school in handcuffs and a police car. Because she is a child abuser, and the other emplloyees that saw this are guilty of not reporting child abuse as well.
Then our schools could began to be a place of respect for all children. Not the laughin stock of the entire middle tennessee area, because of Lewis and Fox and their policies that no one can see. Because ? well we aren't sure because they claim they paid the Tennessee School Booard Assoc. thousands of dollars to but them online, but they couldn't. What idiot would believe that there is to much to put online, but that was their story (or until they change it when they are asked about it again). They change their stories better than they change their underwear.
From what I have heard, the principal at the time was the first one to get to the coach and cheerleaders. In other words, he saw it and chose to not deal with the coach appropriately, nor report the abuse as required by law. Dealing with her appropriately would be her dismissal. He chose not to. I do hope the parents press charges and gets the media involved. No, I don't want GHS to be the laughing stock of Middle TN, but they are due to this mess and the other problems not being dealt with by the school system. This teacher has broken the law and Lewis, Fox, and Medley are setting a bad example by allowing her to continue to teach and coach. Students do need to respect their teachers and administrators, but the students deserve respect in return. How can the students and cheerleaders respect a woman who behaved in this manner? How can they respect the administrators and new principal when they have allowed this woman to continue to teach and coach at the school? I wish any witnesses to this event would call the BOE, media, and school. Make it impossible for them to sweep it under the rug. These parents can't do this alone. They need witnesses and support. We need change and we need it now.
ReplyDeleteWitness I doubt that this parent is counting on the school team getting her daughter a scholarship since she owns a private gym. I still think the parents are setting up the school and teacher. We all know she is untouchable or so she wants us to believe she is. Maybe they are waiting for the Friendship basketball game to have her arrested since we will be in Wilson County. Since this teacher lives in Wilson County I am sure she knows who they are related to that can give them the advice of how to file charges or the process in getting a warrant. Does anyone know when our BB Teams will be playing in Wilson County before the third of January?
ReplyDeleteBlah Blah Blah... From what I heard... Did anyone see this or are you all just trashing people over what you heard? Queen Mom is just mad because this coach pulled the princess from going in the air because she gained weight and is to heavy to throw up... Get over it Queen Mom kids get bigger and lose spots on teams everyday... BOO HOO...
ReplyDeleteghsfan said...Blah Blah Blah...
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you give up? You must be in the click with this coach or Lewis, because all you ever do is trash this girl or her mother. You should know that there have been to many people on here saying they saw this happen. You can Blah Blah Blah... all you want it dosen't make this coach innocent, it just makes you sound like you are related to or pals with her or Lewis and his click. WOW something to be proud of !!
ghsfan - OMG you are calling a kid that is maybe 5ft tall and weighs 80lbs soaking wet fat... What kind of lunatic are you?
ReplyDeleteghsfan, do you even know which cheerleader you are talking about? She is the lightest girl they have! Not to mention the most experienced in going up in the air so she knows how to make it easier on the girls throwing her. Try talking to some experienced cheerleaders, especially some who have had to throw her before you start talking about something for which you know NOTHING about! I still don't understand why you are attacking a child. Sorry, but as it has been stated on here, you make the attacks personal against the child. Why is that? You never will say why you are attacking the child. And yes, there are witnesses to what she did. They have even posted on here. Are you forgetting there are other complaints against this teacher/coach? We need change in the school system and these parents have legitimate problems with this coach and all the administration. Let me guess, you think the school system is just great the way it is, Lewis is the best director ever, and this coach is just being picked on by the big bad parents! When we are losing great teachers every year due to the conditions of this school system, the problem needs dealt with NOW! Please GROW UP and quit calling an 80lbs 5ft tall teenager fat and a "Princess". Why are you making these attacks personal??? Bet you won't answer that one. It is easier for you to call a child names.
ReplyDeleteBlah Blah Blah.... I am just call um like I see um. Queen Mom didnt get her way so she is trying to have this coach charged with child abuse when she was only doing her job...COACHING! I am with everyone else why is she allowing the princess to cheer for a abuser (her words not mine)? Why hasnt the family made anymore comments for the BIG FIGHT? Why... because they SOLD OUT...
ReplyDeleteghsfan~ Go cook a turkey!
ReplyDeleteghsfan, since when is grabbing and shoving an 80lb kid, spreading hateful untrue rumors about her, and discussing her personal information with other students and parents coaching? None of that is coaching. It is being an abuser - both physically and of her position of authority. I noticed you still won't answer the questions about why you are making the attacks so personal and why you are calling a child names. Why is that????
ReplyDeleteWARNING: LONG POST~ READ IT OR SKIP IT~ I fell this pertains to the situations discussed here, not only does this coach fit many of the descriptions given but, Lewis and Fox do as well.
ReplyDeleteI found this info on a website, the content is written by Tim Field~ Full copyright credit is given to him and here is the link address http://www.bullyonline.org/workbully/serial.htm
QUOTE FROM SITE BEGINS~I estimate one person in thirty, male or female, is a serial bully. Who does the following profile describe in your life?
The serial bully:
* is a convincing, practiced liar and when called to account, will make up anything spontaneously to fit their needs at that moment
* has a Jekyll and Hyde nature - is vile, vicious and vindictive in private, but innocent and charming in front of witnesses; no-one can (or wants to) believe this individual has a vindictive nature - only the current target of the serial bully's aggression sees both sides; whilst the Jekyll side is described as "charming" and convincing enough to deceive personnel, management and a tribunal, the Hyde side is frequently described as "evil"; Hyde is the real person, Jekyll is an act
* excels at deception and should never be underestimated in their capacity to deceive
* uses excessive charm and is always plausible and convincing when peers, superiors or others are present (charm can be used to deceive as well as to cover for lack of empathy)
* is glib, shallow and superficial with plenty of fine words and lots of form - but there's no substance
* is possessed of an exceptional verbal facility and will outmanoeuvre most people in verbal interaction, especially at times of conflict
* is often described as smooth, slippery, slimy, ingratiating, fawning, toadying, obsequious, sycophantic
* relies on mimicry, repetition and regurgitation to convince others that he or she is both a "normal" human being and a tough dynamic manager, as in extolling the virtues of the latest management fads and pouring forth the accompanying jargon
* is unusually skilled in being able to anticipate what people want to hear and then saying it plausibly
* cannot be trusted or relied upon
* fails to fulfil commitments
* is emotionally retarded with an arrested level of emotional development; whilst language and intellect may appear to be that of an adult, the bully displays the emotional age of a five-year-old
* is emotionally immature and emotionally untrustworthy
* exhibits unusual and inappropriate attitudes to sexual matters, sexual behavior and bodily functions; underneath the charming exterior there are often suspicions or hints of sex discrimination and sexual harassment, perhaps also sexual dysfunction, sexual inadequacy, sexual perversion, sexual violence or sexual abuse
* in a relationship, is incapable of initiating or sustaining intimacy
* holds deep prejudices (eg against the opposite gender, people of a different sexual orientation, other cultures and religious beliefs, foreigners, etc - prejudiced people are unvaryingly unimaginative) but goes to great lengths to keep this prejudicial aspect of their personality secret
* is self-opinionated and displays arrogance, audacity, a superior sense of entitlement and sense of invulnerability and untouchability
* has a deep-seated contempt of clients in contrast to his or her professed compassion
* is a control freak and has a compulsive need to control everyone and everything you say, do, think and believe; for example, will launch an immediate personal attack attempting to restrict what you are permitted to say if you start talking knowledgeably about psychopathic personality or antisocial personality disorder in their presence - but aggressively maintains the right to talk (usually unknowledgeably) about anything they choose; serial bullies despise anyone who enables others to see through their deception and their mask of sanity
* displays a compulsive need to criticize whilst simultaneously refusing to value, praise and acknowledge others, their achievements, or their existence
* shows a lack of joined-up thinking with conversation that doesn't flow and arguments that don't hold water
* flits from topic to topic so that you come away feeling you've never had a proper conversation
* refuses to be specific and never gives a straight answer
* is evasive and has a Houdini-like ability to escape accountability
* undermines and destroys anyone who the bully perceives to be an adversary, a potential threat, or who can see through the bully's mask
* is adept at creating conflict between those who would otherwise collate incriminating information about them
* is quick to discredit and neutralise anyone who can talk knowledgeably about antisocial or sociopathic behaviors
* may pursue a vindictive vendetta against anyone who dares to held them accountable, perhaps using others' resources and contemptuous of the damage caused to other people and organizations in pursuance of the vendetta
* is also quick to belittle, undermine, denigrate and discredit anyone who calls, attempts to call, or might call the bully to account
* gains gratification from denying people what they are entitled to
* is highly manipulative, especially of people's perceptions and emotions (eg guilt)
* poisons peoples' minds by manipulating their perceptions
* when called upon to share or address the needs and concerns of others, responds with impatience, irritability and aggression
* is arrogant, haughty, high-handed, and a know-all
* often has an overwhelming, unhealthy and narcissistic attention-seeking need to portray themselves as a wonderful, kind, caring and compassionate person, in contrast to their behaviour and treatment of others; the bully sees nothing wrong with their behavior and chooses to remain oblivious to the discrepancy between how they like to be seen and how they are seen by others
* is spiritually dead although may loudly profess some religious belief or affiliation
* is mean-spirited, officious, and often unbelievably petty
* is mean, stingy, and financially untrustworthy
* is greedy, selfish, a parasite and an emotional vampire
* is always a taker and never a giver
* is convinced of their superiority and has an overbearing belief in their qualities of leadership but cannot distinguish between leadership (maturity, decisiveness, assertiveness, co-operation, trust, integrity) and bullying (immaturity, impulsiveness, aggression, manipulation, distrust, deceitfulness)
* often fraudulently claims qualifications, experience, titles, entitlements or affiliations which are ambiguous, misleading, or bogus~QUOTE FROM SITE ENDS
AND ONE MORE~
ReplyDeleteDefinition of workplace bullying by Tim Field
Those who can, do. Those who can't, bully.
"Bullying is a compulsive need to displace aggression and is achieved by the expression of inadequacy (social, personal, interpersonal, behavioural, professional) by projection of that inadequacy onto others through control and subjugation (criticism, exclusion, isolation etc). Bullying is sustained by abdication of responsibility (denial, counter-accusation, pretence of victimhood) and perpetuated by a climate of fear, ignorance, indifference, silence, denial, disbelief, deception, evasion of accountability, tolerance and reward (eg promotion) for the bully."
If you don't like the way the jobs are being done, then try to do them yourself. You don't have to send your children to the public school system. There is a thing called HOME SCHOOLING! Try it if you don't like the way the public schools are being run.

ReplyDeleteAnonymous~
Are you here to offer real advice, or is this just a feeble attempt at sarcasm against this family along with people who home school?
If you have been reading and keeping up then you know that Fox has already suggested the family leave the school system. So bring something new to the table, please.

Clearly 98% don't like the fact that our schools are being run this way. Most will also agree that most of the teachers do a good job(although they are also being bullied). Also I think that is why we have 3 new board members who were not the ones hand picked to run by other members and Lewis (their picks were beaten in the election). I also think that is why the commisioners could all agree on the resolution to send to the state asking that we have the choice of elected or appointed director. Your little commet about homeschooling was very negative and degrading to many who chose that route. Our schools are paid for by OUR TAX DOLLARS, so you see they are our schools wether we have children attending or not!!!! So we can conplain when they are being run so poorly. Abuse is abuse in any form, the school system should have a no bullying policy. But clearly that is like having the fox guard the hen house when Lewis and Fox are in charge. Because they are both excellent at bullying and manipulation. The bullying def. above fits Lewis and Fox like a glass slipper (custom made).
Smith County does have a policy about Bullying they just dont follow it. That is the problem with our schools we have policies but Lewis and Fox think they can change them as they go to fit their needs.
ReplyDeleteJitterbug the only person I see that fits the Bully Pattern you posted for us to read is Queen Mom and her little blog!
ReplyDeleteghsfan~ I honestly would like to know what someone, anyone in a situation like this should do.
ReplyDeleteI am asking for your honest opinion of how this should be handled.
Can you answer directly without sarcasm?
Let the coach, principal and our director do there jobs without trashing them. Accept the punishment and move on. They pulled the kid so they should have been prepared for the school not to allow her back. The school allowed her back so the parents should do the right thing and take down the blog. Them allowing people to trash school employees is not going to change the system. If they dont like the way Mr. Lewis runs our schools to bad he is the boss. Like Mrs. Fox advised they can always move.
ReplyDeleteThats right "they can always move" Why don't Lewis and Fox MOVE. They allowed a coach to committ child abuse and did nothing to stop it. If this coach does something now they are liable as well. Not only them but the principal, athletic director and the school system. Lewis and Fox are a disgrace to the entire profession of education. They think they are unbtouchable, but people are tired of the dictatorship and want change. Many problem have been brought to light now we need to work together for a change. The first order of business should be getting Lewis OUT. He is nothing but a lilability to the school system.
ReplyDeleteYes I know ghsfan will not agree with any of this, but they are evidently in Lewis' little click. Because they approve of a child being abused and have on problem with the abuser getting off scott free. There is never a justification for an authority figure to be allowed to abuse a child. That is excately what this coach has done.
Tennessee State BOE states:
ReplyDelete"Parents are welcome in the school and their support and assistance are sought;" Parents are full partners in the decisions that affect children and families;"
ghsfan~ Do you agree with this position? Perhaps you feel that once the child enters the system they are in state custody and the parent has no rights to the child.
From your posts you seem to feel that the BOE is the sole governing body in this child's and family's life, even to the point of the BOE telling the family why and when they should move.
I certainly hope you value freedom and liberty more than that.
Found out more about this story this weekend while I was with family this story causes concern for the well being of students in this county under this teacher. This is the story as told by my nephew so those that think children aren’t seeing this story played out are wrong. He told me the girl wanted to go back and the parents allowed it with the understanding that they are going to hold Mr. Lewis, Ms. Fox and GHS personally and financially responsible for any further actions from this teacher. I am surprised that they are putting their careers and the school districts money on the line for this teacher after I heard what she did to this child. A student has enough pressures of school without having to worry about a teacher spreading horrible lies about them to other students, teacher and parents to ruin their reputation and moral character.
ReplyDeleteHow can Mr. Lewis or Ms. Fox allow this teacher to abuse and call children names with no punishment? Being called to Mr. Lewis’s office is not proper punishment for a teacher that has grabbed, shoved two students and called students names. Any teacher or coach that would call students names, physically or verbally abuse a child should be fired. Yes this was witnessed and heard by students, faculty and parents. I just wonder what the children of Gordonsville are learning from this story. That should be something the school administration should be asking themselves when they see these children in the halls because they are listening and witnessing the decisions made.
I found this on the TEA website Jitterbug sent to us.

The educator strives to help each student realize his or her potential as a worthy and effective member of society. The educator therefore works to stimulate the spirit of inquiry, the acquisition of knowledge and understanding, and the thoughtful formulation of worthy goals.
In fulfillment of the obligation to the student, the educator –
1. 1. Shall not unreasonably restrain the student from independent action in the pursuit of learning.
2. Shall not unreasonably deny the student access to varying points of view.
3. Shall not deliberately suppress or distort subject matter relevant to the student’s progress
4. Shall make reasonable effort to protect the student from conditions harmful to learning or to health and safety.
5. Shall not intentionally expose the student to embarrassment or disparagement.
6. Shall not on the basis of race, color, creed, sex, national origin, marital status, political or religious beliefs, family, social or cultural background, or sexual orientation unfairly:
a. Exclude any student from participation in any program;
b. Deny benefits to any student;
c. Grant any advantage to any student.
7. Shall not use professional relationships with students for private advantage.
8. Shall not disclose information about students obtained in the course of professional service, unless disclosure serves a compelling professional purpose or is required by law.
PRINCIPLE II COMMITMENT TO THE PROFESSION
The education profession is vested by the public with a trust and responsibility requiring the highest ideals of professional service.
In the belief that the quality of the services of the education profession directly influences the nation and its citizens, the educator shall exert every effort to raise professional standards, to promote a climate that encourages the exercise of professional judgment, to achieve conditions which attract persons worthy of the trust to careers in education, and to assist in preventing the practice of the profession by unqualified persons.
In fulfillment of the obligation to the profession, the educator –
1. Shall not in an application for a professional position deliberately make a false statement or fail to lose a material fact related to competency and qualifications.
2. Shall not misrepresent his/her professional qualifications.
3. Shall not assist entry into the profession of a person known to be unqualified in respect
to character, education, or other relevant attribute.
4. Shall not knowingly make a false statement concerning the qualifications of a candidate for a professional position.
5. Shall not assist a non-educator in the unauthorized practice of teaching.
6. Shall not disclose information about colleagues obtained in the course of professional service unless the disclosure serves a compelling professional purpose or is required by law.
7. Shall not knowingly make false or malicious statements about a colleague.
8. Shall not accept any gratuity, gift, or favor that might impair or appear to influence professional decisions or actions.
tigerauntie~ Thank you so much for such an informative post!
ReplyDeleteFYI~ Per pupil expenditure in Tennessee is $8,345. I know that doesn't directly relate but WOW!
ReplyDelete31 days to file. Does anyone know what these parents are going to do? Are they not talking or are they just keeping their plan close to the vest. Must have good poker players...lol.
ReplyDeletePaws not sure but I know from what is going around school that this isn't over for these parents. Another bit of information for everyone they had another issue with the oldest daughter being hit at school in front of the entire class. If they do file suit I am sure the family will add that to the list of charges. Lewis needs to figure out what would make these parents happy because they are not going away. The school district will lose if they do file. This family is in the position to clean out all of our education money with one lawsuit. I hope they also go after the teacher since they are required to have insurance. Based on all of the lawsuits against SCBOE, I wonder where all the money is gong to come from to settle these.
ReplyDeleteKids1st two words - URBAN LEGENDS! You want us to believe that one family has had two children supposedly abused at GHS. That is crazy...now we know these parents are nuts and the kids must be troublemakers. They are just trying to get free money from us taxpayers.
ReplyDeleteghsfan, how much do you know about ghs? that isn't an urban legend. If you knew anything about what has been going on, you would have known that a former teacher at the school allowed another student to paddle these parents' oldest daughter in front of a room full of students. FYI she is even smaller than the younger girl. If they were "sue happy" they would have already owned this school system. They didn't sue then, it was resolved. Again, all they asked for was an apology to their daughter. So Lewis is well aware that these parents aren't unreasonable. Don't know where you get your facts from, but you don't know much about the school. Oh, let me guess, that didn't happen either!
ReplyDeleteghsfan~ When I saw the first part of your post I thought you were saying that the "idea" of "Kids1st" was URBAN LEGEND! We all know that none of the kids are "first"! I thought we might have finally agreed for once.
ReplyDeleteOh Well!
ghsfan Are you employed by the system? Or is pLewis just paying you to keep tabs on here. You claim to know so much about this and that it is always the kids or these parents fault. Surely you can't believe that everyonje one on here is just making up the same story or that they all witnesses the same events? Lewis is out of hand and this teacher/coach was to. A simple resolve to this would have been to meet with the parents and let the teacher apologize which is all they wanted. But Lewis chose to force these parents to look at sueing, because he thinks he is untouchable, but clearly he should look around at the suits already waiting to go to trial and have a clue. That people are tired of being bnullied and want him gone. They are also tired of his little pawns that only do what he tells they. The community is ready to clean house starting with LEWIS, the new board members were just the beginning.... People want change and are willing to work for it. All eyes are on Lewis and his pals they better make sure they cross all their t's and dot all their i's. So ghsfan report on and keep up your fantasy making at least it is funny! Because their seems to be no truth to what you say.
ReplyDeleteWhat amazes me is how every one of you keep talking about it. Give it a rest already. The child was not done right but I feel the school officials are being done fairly either. So the daughter is cheering so something has been resolved so tell me why you all keep bickering like juevies about something that happened months ago. I am not saying forget it I am saying quit brining it up over and over and over again. Have you ever heard the expression let a sleeping dog lie? Think about it while you all grow up.
ReplyDeleteanonymous, you feel the school officials aren't being done fairly? they should be treated fairly when they have allowed this and other messes to get to the point of embarrassing the entire county? how would you have felt and reacted if this had been your child? these parents aren't demanding huge amounts of money out of the school. they are asking for fairness. something that is completely lacking in this county.
ReplyDeletewhen you let sleeping dogs lie when they shouldn't, you usually get up with fleas. don't tell us to grow up, we aren't the ones who refuse to apologize to a child that was assulted and then "used as an example" when she did nothing wrong. try telling the teacher, Medley, Lewis and Fox to grow up and apologize and end this mess.
Maybe it keeps coming up over and over because we are shocked that the teacher refuses to apologize. This option would not have been allowed for the student if she assaulted the teacher. She would have asked for her head and she would no longer be attending GHS. From what is going around the parents asked for an apology and their child to be allowed to return. We all know she is back but the child still has not received an apology and the teacher is bragging about the fact that these parents lost. The teacher needs to grow up admit she make a mistake like a true educator would. Of course a true educator would have never acted the way she had in the first place. She should not be an educator in SC schools or in any schools for that matter. Maybe thats why Watertown didn't hire her for the three jobs she applied for. Another thing if Lewis and Fox would have done their jobs this child would not have had to sit out for football season. Looks to me like this child is the only one that has suffered in this situation. If I were the parents I would sue the pants off all of them and then let sleeping dogs lie.

I have check in with some friends at Watertown and they say this lady is always complaning about things not being done to suit her. The reasons she wasn't hired was they knew she would be a problem, because she causes so many problems as a parent. They read the blog and their feelings were if it had been done to her kid, she would have went to the media and wanted the coaches head on a platter
That tells about what people think about this coach and how she comes across at other places.
The school must not have found any of these acts after their investigation or I am sure the teacher would not be teaching. If the principal handled this at the school level and the child is back we need to move on. Sounds like the parents are happy with the outcome or the child would not be cheering.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Kids1st ~ No teacher would act or treat a child the way this teacher has chosen to do. If this was a male teacher or happened in another county the teacher would have been arrested and mug shots splashed all over the media. Based on what a lawyer posted on here any school employee or administrator that witnessed or is aware of these teachers’ acts and hasn’t reported it to the proper authorities is both financially and legally just as responsible. Mr. Lewis, Mrs. Fox and GHS need to tell all of the students and parents why this teacher is getting preferential treatment above the law, rules and policies. Do they truly believe that teachers, principals or other parents are going to put their careers on the line by lying on the stand if this goes to court? Mr. Lewis can bully everyone in to trying to keep this hush hush but he is not above the law. Has anyone advised this teacher if child protective services is called that she will never teach at any school at any level again? If I were the parents or teacher I would hire a good attorney because I can assure all of you Mr. Lewis and Mrs. Fox do not care about any of the parties involved.
ReplyDeleteTigerfan how long ago did this happen to the older child? Do you know if lewis handled it or left it at the school level. That is his favorite move because then the parents can't get to the board.
ReplyDeleteQueen Mom now you are going to allow more teacher bashing. Just take down the blog noone cares about this anymore.... GET OVER IT!

You are so wrong people do care and they are tired of Lewis and his bullying!!!!!!!!
People want change and this isn't over this child will have to live with this for the rest of her life. It will affect her and her decisions for years to come. When a child has been abused it dose not go away overnight, it can take years and sometimes the issues are never resolved. Keep this going and maybe Lewis and Fox will be shown the door!! So things can improve for the students as well as the employees in this system. All of which are victiams of Lewis and his bullying, unless he is one of the chosen few.
I should of said she was one of the chosen few, because Lewis does like them young and female. To be in his chosen group.
ReplyDeletekuriouskat, I am not sure of the year it happened. I just know the older daughter was in high school when it happened and she just graduated this year. I know Lewis was present and involved with the meeting, along with the GHS administration. Basically, a teacher allowed another student to paddle their daughter in front of the entire class. That is what everyone needs to know, they are not "sue happy" nor are they out for a large settlement. They want justice and for policies that are already in place to be followed. If they wanted money, they would have owned SC when that incident happened.
ReplyDeleteghsfan, we do care about this child and about the changes that need to be brought about for the good of all the kids in the SC school system. You need to accept the fact you are defending an abusive bully (take your pick on whether it is the teacher or Lewis or both). This matter isn't just going to go away. Not until it is dealt with all the up the "chain of command".
30 Days to go... what will the parents do?
